An Evening with Lisa Ford-Berry, Founder of B.R.A.V.E. Society - February 26th

 Time Tested Books
is pleased to present
an evening with Lisa Ford-Berry,
founder of
B.R.A.V.E. Society

Tuesday, February 26th, at 7:00pm

A little over four years ago a self-inflicted gunshot ended the life of a vibrant, intelligent, loving, sensitive young man in the restroom of one of the best schools in the region, Mira Loma High School in the San Juan Unified School District in Carmichael, CA. Michael Joseph Berry left for school the morning of September 15, 2008, his 17th birthday, giving no indication to his parents that anything was wrong. Within a few short hours the dreaded phone call no parent should receive came from a nurse from the hospital rather than from the school. The next day, Michael died in the arms of his mother. From that point on Lisa, Bob, and older brother Robert’s lives were changed forever.

In her newly published compilation, “Be B.R.A.V.E. – Say Something; Do Something”, author Lisa Ford-Berry takes her readers through the tragedy and aftermath of losing a child to peer-abuse driven bullycide due to relentless cyber-bullying and the roadblocks she experienced from the school and law enforcement in trying to answer the question…why?

Like the mythical Phoenix rising from the ashes, Berry talks about her decision to found the non-profit, B.R.A.V.E. Society and goes on to give key resources, insights, and direct references to students, parents, guardians, family members, professionals, and anyone concerned about the bullying of children and teens.

“Be B.R.A.V.E. – Say Something; Do Something” is a testament to Berry’s dedication to doing what she can to keep what happened to her son and family from any other victim of bullying and peer abuse.

Moderating the event will be Patrick Salimi. Patrick is a successful entrepreneur and on the Board of Directors of B.R.A.V.E. Society.

Following the event Lisa Ford-Berry will be on hand to sign books to those who wish to purchase them. Books are $15.00 and are tax-deductible. 100% of the proceeds will be used to continue the work Lisa and her non-profit are doing for the community.
This event is FREE and open to everyone.
