Time Tested Books is proud to welcome back
award-winning journalist Jaimal Yogis,
author of Salt Water Buddha
on Wednesday, January 16th at 7 p.m.
reading and discussing his latest book,
The Fear Project.
Following a confidence-rattling heartbreak, award-winning journalist Jaimal Yogis, author of Salt Water Buddha sets out to understand why fear so often dominates our lives. The provocative, entertaining, often laugh-out-loud story follows Yogis as he navigates his own fears, from the monsters under his childhood bed to his personal quest to surf bigger and more difficult waves, culminating in northern California’s Mavericks—huge, crushing (and sometimes deadly) waves in the dead of winter.
The Fear Project explores the complicated spectrum of why we feel afraid: fear of loss, fear of not being good enough, fear of being alone, fear of being trapped in the wrong job, fear of not being able to realize your dreams, and, ultimately, fear of death. Yogis takes readers on a memorable and harrowing journey as he seeks answers from neuroscientists, meditation teachers, great white shark divers, psychologists, and elite athletes. It’s through understanding fear’s many facets — and learning how to act in spite of paralyzing nerves — that Yogis learns how we can all unlock a sense of renewed possibility and a more rewarding life.
This event is FREE and everyone is invited
