On Thursday 4/26 at 7:00pm we will be joined by poet Desmond Preston for a reading and signing of his newest collection of poetry, Phenomenal Amble Magnetism. Here (below) is an excerpt from his introduction:
At first I thought of changing the world but then I had second thoughts
They consisted of making my own
Footsteps in my brain came from above the enemy
Which is me
Does that make me a cynic
Tomorrow already happened and I chose not to forget it
I don't have to be the negro that America depicted
Cuz everybody's a critic until you live it
