About 40 adults, who grew up as children of immigrants in the United States are featured in a new book entitled PROUD AMERICANS: GROWING UP AS CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANTS. The book is a collection of inspirational stories about people’s joys and struggles while coming of age in the United States.

Included are Hollywood stars, high-profile business and media people, award-winning athletes, members of the President’s cabinet, elected officials and those whose names may not be recognizable but whose stories are filled with wisdom and inspiration.

Children of immigrants are different. They are their parents’ bridge to American ways, their translators, their support system, and their hope for a more promising future. They have fought to live independent lives while being true to their families’ roots and expectations.

The stories in PROUD AMERICANS: GROWING UP AS CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANTS are based on research and extensive interviews with people who live across the United States and whose family roots stretch around the globe. During each personally conducted interview, the subjects tap into their memories about growing up in America and how being children of immigrants has affected their lives.

This event is FREE and everyone is invited.
