On Monday, December 29, the Sacramento Poetry Center presents a reading by Jeane Wagner and Indigo Moor at Time Tested Books.
Jeanne Wagner’s poetry has appeared in many journals including Nimrod, Atlanta Review, Poet Lore, Quarterly West and The Southern Poetry Review. She has been the recipient of several national awards, including Writers-at-Work, Ann Stanford Prize, and the Ina Coolbrith Award Wagner has two chapbooks, The Falling Woman and The Conjurer. A full length manuscript, The Zen-Pianomover, was published in 2004. She grew up in Sacramento . Her latest collection, Medusa in Therapy was one of the last releases from Poets Corner Press before the death of its editor, David Humphreys. She was born in San Francisco in 1943 and grew up in Sacramento.
Indigo Moor’s “Tap-Root” was published in 2006 as part of Main Street Rag’s Editor’s Select Poetry Series . He is a 2003 recipient of Cave Canem’s Writing fellowship in poetry, former vice president of the Sacramento Poetry Center, and editor for the Tule Review. He is the winner of the 2005 Vesle Fenstermaker Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers. Other honors include finalist finishes for the T.S. Eliot Prize and the Saturnalia First Book Award. His work has appeared in the Xavier Review, LA Review, the Pushcart Prize nominated Out of the Blue Artists Unite, Poetry Now, as well as other publications. Indigo Moor is pictured above.
