The Sacramento Living
Library welcomes three journalists who cover local news from different
angles: Ken Chavez is the Senior Editor for Local News at the Sacramento
Bee; Jared Goyette is the Editor of the online-only Sacramento Press;
and Nick Miller is Co-Editor of the Sacramento News & Review. The
panelists will talk about what covering local news looks like in
Sacramento, 2013. Covering ANY news is a very different animal than it
was even 10 years ago, but reduced staffing, combined with the very new
demands of the 24 hour news cycle present challenges--and opportunities--that simply did not exist before, especially at the local level.
