William O'Daly & Louis V. Johnson, February 15

My truest vocation
was to become a mill:
singing in the water, I studied
the motives of transparency
and learned from the abundant wheat
the identity that repeats itself.

---Pablo Neruda, translated by William O'Daly

On February 15 at 7 pm we will have a reading by William O'Daly. O'Daly is a poet and fiction writer, though lately he's been most noted for his series of translations of the great poet Pablo Neruda. This month will see the release of his 8th volume of Neruda translations, "World's End" on Copper Canyon Press (we will have copies available). O'Daly will be accompanied by guitarist Lous V. Johnson, who has several CDs on the Dos Almas label. We are asking for a $5 donation, which will go to the poets.

William O'Daly will be appearing on Capital Public Radio's Insight program at 2 pm on Monday, February 9th.
