Norman Fischer appears on August 30
We are happy to announce a book talk and signing with Zen roshi, poet, and author Norman Fischer on Saturday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m. Having served as co-abbot of the San Francisco Zen Center from 1995—2000, he has published several works of poetry and books on Buddhism. Fischer founded the Everyday Zen Foundation in 2000, a network of Buddhist sanghas with chapters throughout North America. He has also served as mentor to teenage boys—all of which is chronicled in his book Taking Our Places: The Buddhist Path to Truly Growing Up. Fischer also serves on the Board of Directors for the Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco.
Norman Fischer's books include The Narrow Roads of Japan, Slowly but dearly (with poet Philip Whalen), and Jerusalem Moonlight: An American Zen Teacher Walks the Path of His Ancestors. His most recent work is Sailing Home, which is available at the book store.
The event is free.
