Announcing The Sacramento Living Library 2010

We're very excited to announce something we've been putting together for a while now: a monthly series of free talks and presentations happening at Time Tested Books in 2010 which we are calling The Sacramento Living Library

Sacramento is more than California's state capitol, a town of politicians and lobbyists. Sacramento has a rich cultural life made up of scholars and athletes and artists; writers and architects; poets, culinary geniuses, and people who have, quite simply, lead interesting lives. We think of this city as a living library. Time Tested Books is tapping into this resource with talks, lectures and discussions featuring some of Sacramento's best and brightest.

The Sacramento Living Library, curated by Time Tested Books’ Peter Keat and hosted by Midtown Monthly editor Tim Foster, is a unique addition to the River City ’s cultural scene, giving stage to local legends like Tower Records founder Russ Solomon and Darrell Corti, president of Corti Brothers and internationally noted food & wine expert. The series features thoughtful and provocative social critics such as Peter Schrag and Ginger Rutland, and visionary architect-planner David Mogavero. We are also very excited to present a panel of Sacramento’s former mayors – Burnett Miller, Phil Isenburg, Anne Rudin, and Heather Fargo in conversation about "Sacramento and its Mayors: Past Present and Future".

Starting in January 2010, the Sacramento Living Library will be happening on the third Sunday of every month at Time Tested Books. Doors open at 6 p.m. , with things kicking off at 7 p.m. The events are free and everyone is invited.
